Our own Swahili language choir had the honor of leading worship at the Kentucky Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church in Covington, KY on June 11th for the Mission Night Service. This annual gathering brings together United Methodist clergy and laity from all over the state. They sang for the prelude, as well as during the mission offering and communion. Pastor Katie explained to those gathered that while sometimes we are led in worship on Mission Night from choirs and musicians who have traveled from other countries, that the choir here tonight are members at Buechel UMC. The choir is open to singing at other churches around Kentucky for special services or worship that isn’t on Sunday morning, as Sunday mornings they will be worshiping with us.
